acnesRosacea is one of the unrelieved skin diseases that have affected many people in the world. The condition normally affects the face of individuals characterized by red lips, cheeks or forehead. While many people are still looking for ways of treating the condition, questions are still being asked on the exact causes of rosacea. However, no one seem to have the exact answer to this question given that not even dermatologists have been able to offer perfect answer.


Symptoms and Causes of Rosacea


While medical experts in collaboration with dermatologists are spending sleepless nights figuring out the possible causes of rosacea, a slight idea concerning the condition has been found. Many people believe that the condition is a genetic disorder. Sometimes it can also be due to infection by bacteria something that has not yet been fully proven. The most common reasonable evidence is that of the genetic disorder. The condition is said to affect individuals between the ages of 35-60 years, this means that it is not very common in children and youths. So, what are the possible symptoms of rosacea? Some of the familiar signs of rosacea include red lips, forehead, chin and nose. The condition is often linked to acne since it is always accompanied by pimples. Neither whitehead nor blackhead is associated with rosacea. In most cases this condition often develops and after sometimes, it may vanish only to come back later.

Though this condition does not necessary call for one to undertake surgery, it reaches a time when the process is essential. For instance, the nose may be adversely affected by rosacea to the point where it becomes disfigured. This may force doctors to consider surgery as the only way of restoring the real looks of an individual.

It is very crucial to treat this condition while still on its advancing stage. Waiting for too long can turn out to be very costly in the long run. Since no one wants to go through surgery, an effort has to be made to restrain rosacea from advancing further. Statistics show that women are at higher risk of being affected with rosacea than men, but again, men often experience the painful part of the condition than women. Alcohol, coffee, emotional stress and exposure to certain chemicals are believed to make the condition worse. Since doctors do not know how to treat the condition, they often advice rosacea sufferers to stay away from things that may trigger it.


Luckily, there is some positive news from some medical researchers. According to them, there is a connection between some digestive conditions and rosacea. This could apparently be one of the initial steps of knowing how to cure this condition. In their opinion, rosacea patients tend to have very low level of stomach acids. For this reason no proper digestion can take place in the stomach, and without good digestion, vitamins and mineral salts can not be transported to other parts of the body including the skin. Taking drugs and eating foods that facilities digestion in the stomach is often recommended by doctors to lessen acne rosacea condition.

    It is not known what causes Rosacea. But there are many factors that are believed to flare up rosacea. They are:

    * Change in temperature
    * Hot and spicy food
    * Stress
    * Sunrays
    * Excess exercising
    * Caffeine
    * Irritating facial cosmetics

    – avoid any scented soaps and creams (scents & fragrances can irritate sensitive or inflamed skin)
    – have a daily facial cleansing routine (2x daily, morning & night. Do not scrub as this will irritate the skin)
    – try a dairy milk face-soak during a flare-up (as long as you’re not allergic) The dairy milk helps to balance the natural PH of the skin. Rinse off with cool/warm water.
    – try using pure tea tree oil for pimples & blemishes. Apply with a q-tip to each individual pimple or blemish. (Do not use on entire face as it can be very drying to the skin.)
    – try using lotions containing certified green algae or aloe vera gel (use lotions, not creams, as lotion is more gentle on the skin and absorbs more easily)

    – avoid extended periods in direct sun (use sunblock for sensitive skin, with 15 – 30 spf)
    – avoid extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, windy…) These can irritate & further inflame sensitive skin.

    – avoid really hot things. Hot showers & hot tubs, hot drinks (the heat will dilate blood vessels causing more redness)
    – drink pure green tea (matcha), rose hip tea, and fennel tea (great antioxidants)
    – eat foods high in anti-oxidants; such as blueberries, cranberries, purple grapes, broccoli, etc..
    – avoid spicy foods, greasy foods, and foods with a high refined-sugar content. (these foods disrupt the natural digestive processes of the body)

    – try to get at least 7 – 8 hours of sleep each night (aids in the healing processes of the body)
    – try to cut down on stress (stress can magnify a multitude of conditions)
