adenomyosisThis is the presence of endometrial glands and stroma within the uterine myometrium.

Adenomyosis commonly occurs during late reproductive years with the highest incidence in woman in there 40’s and may be asymptomatic or associated with the following:

  • Abnormal menstrual bleeding
  • Dysmenorrhea
  • Uterine enlargement
  • Uterine tenderness during menstruatuion.


When necessary surgery, and it includes resection of localised areas or if severe, hysterectomy.
